adidas New Iniki Runner Boost
Though they may look like it, the adidas Iniki Runner isn’t actually a reissue or a remake of a classic trainer from the three stripes archive. Inspired by classic 70s running shoe designs, the new adidas Iniki Runner offers old-school stylish alongside all-day comfort aided by adidas’ famed Boost technology.
adidas has been in consistent form of late when it comes to their Boost sneakers. 2015 was the year of the Ultra Boost, and last year saw the NMD quickly become one of the true modern classics. But the brand is showing no signs of letting up with the upcoming release of the adidas Iniki Runner.
So named after the Hawaiian word for ‘sharp’, ‘punch’ or ‘rip’, the Iniki Runner draws from other adidas classics likes the Gazelle and the Samba. The upper is constructed from a mix of two-way stretch mesh and suede, the former of which overlays on the toe and heel lending a vintage look to the silhouette.
The upper also features a shiny tongue as well as the traditional serrated 3-stripes for some added detailing. An exposed Boost midsole provides some welcomed cushioning and bounce, while the gum rubber outsole ties the design together as a single, fashionable whole.
The Iniki trainers slip on the foot thanks to their OrthoLite sock-like structure, while the Boost technology energises the wearer’s step and the webbed rubber outsole offers great traction.
The Adidas Iniki Runner with Boost technology is set to release over at the adidas Website on Wednesday 1st March. Available in Navy, Red and Grey, a pair of Inikis will set you back around the £89 mark.
