Movember is upon us, and Joes up and down the country are attempting to grow it out to raise some awareness for men’s health issues. But it’s not only average Joes who are getting into the spirit of things; sportswear giants, adidas have just announced a ‘Mustachio’ edition of its Barricade, a trainer complete with full-grain brown leather inspired by barbershops.
The limited edition adidas Mustachio Barricade trainer is inspired by the aesthetic of iconic barbershops from the past. Made using high quality, full-grain Brown leather, this Barricade comes complete with a moustache embroidered right into the front of the tongue.
The 2016 version builds on the success of last year’s iteration, and features a similar construction but with an all-new upper for enhanced breathability and a faster look. The leather on the upper also features zonal AdiTuff material which provides added durability in high wear areas.
The midsole on the Mustachio Barricade is constructed from AdiPrene+ inserts in the heel and forefoot for good cushioning, energy return and support, while the revolutionary Barricade midfoot chassis locks in the foot for maximum stability during lateral movements. The AdiWear 6 rubber outsole comes in a modified herringbone tread pattern offering excellent durability and traction on any court surface.
Colour-wise, the Mustachio 2016 takes hues clearly from the classic barbershop. The leather upper comes in sophisticated Brown leather, while there more exotic highlights with Gold outsole features and an almost tartan textile on the tongue.
Just in time for Movember, the adidas Mustachio Barricade trainer is available now at various adidas stockists where prices begin at around the £100 mark.
