adidas Originals = Pharrell Williams ‘Pink Beach’
The three-stripes are no strangers to joining forces with musicians, and their latest collection with long-time collaborator Pharrell Williams might just be their most distinct yet. For Spring/Summer 2016, the ‘Pink Beach’ range offers Joes (and Janes) bright, colourful and highly-energetic footwear and apparel.
The adidas Originals = Pharrell Williams ‘Pink Beach’ collection is said to be inspired by the magic of island culture. As such, the extensive range of adidas garments, footwear and accessories are plastered with Pharrell’s signature bold artworks and aesthetics for one of the most summer-ready collections we’ve seen to date.
Set to drop in two parts, the Pink Beach range uses designs packed full of explosive bold colourways, as well as graphics of flowers, hearts, suns, peace signs, and a plethora of hippy-inspired slogans. The majority of these graphics are embroidered, which gives the whole collection a premium handmade quality.
The first drop takes place today (Thursday 5th May) and features the collection’s embroidered shirt and short combo. With a base colourway of Olive Green, both the shirt and shorts are clad with Pharrell’s distinctive designs.
Also released today is the ‘Love Frequency’ blouson, a sports-style Black jacket with the code ‘528H’Z embroidered on the back – a reference to the famous frequency said to create healing vibrations for the mind, body and soul.
While the garments in this collection are clearly not going to be for every Joe, the footwear on show might be more to the regular Joe’s liking. The low-profile silhouette almost looks like a classic Stan Smith, only with a beach-ready twist. The Elastic Slip On and Elastic Lace Up feature moulded nubuck heels and stretch patch-tape uppers, and are available in White with a Green heel tab or in a Tropical variegated-stripe colourway.
The adidas Originals = Pharrell Williams ‘Pink Beach’ collection is available at all of adidas’ stores, as well as Billionaire Boys Club’s flagship stores. The second drop will roll out more summer staples on Thursday 12th May. Head over to the adidas Website for more details.
