Asics Tiger ‘30 Years of GEL’ Pack
Footwear technology may have changed dramatically in recent history, but one technology which has withstood the test of time, three decades to be exact, is the Asics GEL System. To celebrate that feat, Asics have updated three of their most popular GEL styles for a ’30 Years of GEL’ pack.
To celebrate 30 Years of the GEL, Asics Tiger have pulled together three of the best shoes from the 90’s that perfectly capture the mentality behind the technology; The Gel Lyte III, Gel Lyte V, and GT Cool XPress.
Each pair features a primarily Black upper with Blue detailing, speckled White soles and graphic patterns on the inner linings. According to Asics, the 30 years colourway is inspired by the ‘development landscape’ of the mid-80s… we’re not sure what that means either, but we do like it very much!
The GEL was first introduced all the way back in 1986. The concept involved a responsive insert located inside the midsole of the trainer, which acted as a cushioning feature to improve comfortability when the foot hit the floor.
Each trainer in the 30 Years Pack is covered with a Sandwich mesh sitting next to a hardwearing coated leather, with a noise-patterned sockliner graphic added for good measure.
The Asics Tiger ’30 Years of GEL’ Pack is available now from various retailers as well as the Asics Website.
