Aston Martin DBR1/2 Le Mans Cufflinks
If there’s two things that’s guaranteed to get us interested here in the AJ office, it’s cool fashion and good cars. Which is why we absolutely love the look of these cufflinks which have been made using actual metal from the 1959 Le Mans winning Aston Martin DBR1/2!
The limited edition cufflinks were made by TMB Art Metal and are crafted using donor metal from a small section of body panel from the original car, which was driven to victory at the legendary 24 hour endurance race in 1959. The panel itself was damaged and removed during restoration work in the early 90s.
The cufflinks measure in at 25mm, and have been hand sculpted and crafted to recreate a miniature version of the DBR1/2 in all its glory, with everything from the driver to the raised tonneau cover and lowered wheel arch covers picked out in precise detail.
How limited are we talking? Well, very! Just 50 pairs of the cufflinks are to be offered worldwide, and there are no plans (or materials!) to craft any more, so you know they’re exclusive.
Each pair of Aston Martin cufflinks come with a certificate of authentication signed by both TMB Art Metal owner and founder Christopher Bennett and, more importantly, one of the car’s 1959 drivers, Carroll Shelby. Alongside Roy Salvadori, Shelby drove the DBR1/2 to victory leaving second place a full 25 laps behind!
Each pair of Aston Martin DBR1/2 Le Mans cufflinks are engraved with their individual limited edition numbers and finished in sterling Silver and 18ct Gold. You can grab hold of a pair on from TMB Art Metal where they’ll set you back £895 for a pair. For info: Telephone: 0208 810 9997 or Email: firstname.lastname@example.org.
