Base London AW13

With colder (and wetter) weather on our doorstep, it is time to invest in a robust shoe to cope with the changeable British climate, as well as a stylish one to lead the way in the fashion stakes.
Classic silhouettes are classic for a reason; they stay on trend season after season, and the new range from Base London is quintessentially British in its inspiration, yet justaposed with contemporary twists. Using a mix of aristocratic and upmarket rural influences the new Manor range for AW13 delivers a mix of traditional styles including Oxford & Derby shoes alongside Chukka, Chelsea and lace up boots.
We have chosen our three favourite styles at Average Joes, the Chatsworth classic brogue which features a traditional punched detailing on the toe, a chunky rubber sole to insulate you from the elements, with the grain bordo rich oxblood tone helping you to stand out from the crowd.
Conversely, the Woburn contemporary brogue is a little less serious in its broguing approach. The details are more modern, with metal rings around the lace holes, a more minimalist broguing detail with the waxy black colour being really versatile, and able to dress up and down equally at home with jeans as with smart chino’s. A robust sole and leather upper will once again endure the weather, with the leather looking better and better over time.
Lastly, the Blenheim is an upmarket chukka boot, which is chunky and durable in it’s design making it perfect for your winter wardrobe. Making an ideal day boot, with the option to dress it up for a night out, the chukka style offers an good alternative to a Chelsea boot, or generic lace up boot with a little more versatility.
