Best Men’s Celebrity Barbers in the UK
Today marks National Men’s Grooming Day. And rather than reel off a list of morning routines and products you should be using, we thought we’d delve into the world of celebrity hairdressers. You’ve seen them all over Instagram hanging with Premier League footballers and A-list actors, here’s 5 of the UK’s highest profile men’s celebrity barbers.

Celebrities: David Beckham, David Gandy, Frank Lampard
First we start with the king. Larry King, to be exact. Having groomed and styled some of the icons of modern menswear, such as David Beckham and David Gandy no less, King really is at the pinnacle of British barbering. Unlike others, he hasn’t achieved it through a PR machine and large social media presence either. Over the past decade he’s gained a reputation as the ‘super groomer’, and when your CV reads as good as his does, the PR takes care of itself.
Where: SliderCuts, London
Celebrities: Anthony Joshua, Reggie Yates, Stormzy
But if you’ve ever had a quick celebrity browse on Instagram, chances are you would have come across Mark Maciver, AKA SliderCuts. With over 50,000 followers on Instagram, SliderCuts embodies the rise of the superstar barber. His razor-sharp skills and big name endorsements from the likes of Anthony Joshua and Stormzy have earned him a gigantic following, with bookings being taken up to 6 weeks in advance at his London salon. His rise has been so rapid, he’s also recently signed deals with Nike and Facebook.
Where: Gielly Green, London
Celebrities: Robert Downey Jr., Johnny Depp, Sacha Baron Cohen
He may not be one of the biggest names in UK hairdressing, but those in-the-know know just how much pedigree Carmelo Guastella has. Having started his career at the age of 9 in Sicily, Guastella now has over 30 years of experience in the industry, specialising in men’s luxury grooming. He’s collaborated with major companies and brands, such as Phillips, Gillette and Dolce & Gabbana, and has also worked with some of the biggest A-listers on the planet, citing working with Sacha Baron Cohen for a shoot by David Bailey and his work on Tim Burton’s ‘Sweeney Todd’ as career highlights. Most recently, he styling the England Team for their official World Cup team photo.
Celebrities: Deli Alli, Hugo Lloris, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain
But if you can’t emulate your favourite footballers on the pitch, you can at least join them in the salon. The unofficial barber for England’s Three Lions, Justin Carr, or ‘Justcuts’ as he’s otherwise known, is the personal stylist to England players Dele Alli, Kyle Walker, Danny Welbeck, Kieran Trippier and Jordan Henderson. He’s also given captain Harry Kane a trim and been flown out to LA to make sure Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain has his look on point while on holiday.
Where: A Star Barbers, Surrey
Celebrities: Paul Pogba, Eden Hazard, Kylian Mbappe
Having started his career cutting hair for players in Chelsea’s youth team, Ahmed Alsanawi can now lay claim to being responsible for the hair of Eden Hazard, Paul Pogba and even Kylian Mbappe. He works out of A Star Barbers in Chessington, Surrey, which has a huge reputation despite its modest size. This is mainly thanks to word of mouth, with Alsanawi heading to the World Cup to give basically the whole Belgian and French squads a trim. Living the dream, indeed.
