Boardies SS17 Swimming Shorts
With things finally beginning to heat up, it’s time to start planning for your summer holidays. For their Spring/Summer 2017 collection, swimming shorts extraordinaire Boardies travelled to L.A. and took a road trip along the Pacific Coast, partying with friends and visiting legendary surf spots.
The result is a collection which expands upon classic Boardies designs and also refines the brand’s iconic aesthetic with some 90s nostalgia – all the while keeping the surf and skate culture that Boardies has become so synonymous with over the years.
Key prints in the SS17 collection include everything from neon sea life to broken surfboards. Monochromatic and geometric prints sit alongside kaleidoscopic pastel shades, deck chair stripes and digital wave graphics.
As usual, all of Boardies exclusive hand drawn designs are available in 3 key fits to accommodate everyone’s taste. Shortie and mid length are classic fits but this season sees a new addition in the form of the flat front long style.
The stand out in the collection is Santa Carla, a design inspired by the skate scene around the beaches and board walks of California. Named after the film The Lost Boys, these shorts are made from Boardies’ signature supersoft, lightweight material, and feature an elasticated geometric black and white design.
If you want to keep things simpler, however, you can also get a pair of Boardies in a block colour, with three shades of Blue, and Red your options. The shorts also feature the exclusive ‘Magic Fabric’ water reactive technology, which reveal a pattern when the fabric gets wet.
The Boardies SS17 swimming shorts collection is available now over at the Boardies Website or at stockists including Selfridges, Harvey Nichols, and The Store Soho House. A pair of shorts starts at around the £50 mark.
