Combining two of AW13’s biggest trends, bomber jackets and tweed, the clever folks at American brand Bonobos have come up with the Camden Tweed Bomber Jacket. The jacket offers the wearer a refined take on a bomber with a distinctive wintery feel. The Jacket comes in a vintage brown shade with darker brown ribbed trim at the collar, sleeve end and hem making for a truly fitted aesthetic, something which Bonobos take pretty seriously.
The outer is a quality herringbone tweed manufactured by Abraham Moon and Sons England and comes with a rather fetching brown/merlot Bemberg lining. The jacket is a unique and refreshing way to throw a modern twist on a traditional woollen jacket, and also to smarten up a bomber or sports jacket with a English / American fusion. It could as easily be teamed with a pair of jeans, casual shirt and desert boots as it could be with a smart shirt, chino’s and brogues giving it the ‘wardrobe versatility’ that is necessary to give you enough value for money to make your jacket purchase an investment for more than 5 minutes wear.
The Camden Tweed Jacket retails at a pretty reasonable £185, but since Bonobos dont ship outside of the USA & Australia, you might need to kick up a stink with one of the company’s customer service ‘Ninjas’ (no really that’s what they are called) in order to get your hands on one.
