Daily Paper AW13
Dutch brand Daily Paper have release their collection for the coming autumn/winter season and the items take inspiration from both African heritage and authentic street couture.
Starting in 2008, the brand focuses on rugged street apparel, with hints of ethnicity, and a fluid individuality running through their ranges.
Stand out pieces include the sleek varsity jacket featuring leather sleeves and a contrasting fabric body with the brands logo with a shield and crossed spears akin to that on the Kenyan flag adorning the chest. Alongside this are some tidy tees which draw inspiration from Malian bogolan or ‘mud cloth’ and feature bold yet rough geometric patterns and designs creating the African continent’s answer to Aztec print. There is also a sweet hybrid between a baseball jersey and a simple dashiki putting a modern twist on a West African fashion mainstay.
We’re like Daily Paper Clothing as a brand, and hope we get some stockists for the new collection here in the UK so we can rock some more print around the Average Joes office.
The range will be available on their site and in selected stockists from late September.
