El Ganso Walking Stripes Trainers
We’re all about introducing Joes to new brands here at AJ HQ, and while they’ve been around for a decade or so, we reckon you won’t have heard of Spanish clothing label El Ganso. Well, they’re making their way over to our shores and they’ve just debuted their Walking Stripes trainer collection.
A new line inspired by its first sneakers more than 10 years ago, the Walking Stripes capsule collection by El Ganso features two silhouettes, the Tigra and the Running. Both of which we love the look of!
Bizarrely, El Ganso’s first pair of trainers were actually inspired by a model worn by Slovak soldiers in World War II, and the Stripes collection has taken on those very plaids and colourways which quickly found their niche on the streets of Madrid.
Our favourite of the two silhouettes is the Tigra, a take on the humble plimsoll. American prep meets alternative flare with the Tigra, and it features sidebands which references the act of walking, while the hatched lines are similar to those found in tartan plaids.
The second part of the capsule takes on a similarly preppy style to the Tigra, but the Running trainer incorporates a more robust, higher sole. The ribbon in two colours is reminiscent of the contrasting collars and linings seen on El Ganso blazers, coats, and polos.
The El Ganso Walking Stripes trainer collection is dropping in two stages. The Tigra is available now for £55, while the Running will be released on the 30th March for £65. See more details at the El Ganso Website.
