ellesse Heritage AW16
The last couple of years has seen a real resurgence from sportswear brands who were particularly prominent in the 80s and 90s. No label has seen more of push than ellesse and that looks set to continue as we head into 2017 with the release of the ellesse Heritage AW16 collection.
You may remember last year we featured ellesse and their reimaged Penguin collection, the skiwear branch of the Italian label. Originally introduced all the way back in 1967, the original penguin first appeared on the swing tags of ellesse’s Jet Ski pants before the penguin was lost altogether in the early 70s when ellesse merged their tennis and skiwear garments into a single brand.
Well, this season ellesse is continuing the après-ski with a Heritage range which offers up premium, outdoors inspired jackets and accessories for AW16. While technical sportswear garments are the focus, we can thankfully report that ellesse haven’t lost any of their vibrancy in the cooler temperatures with the Heritage apparel.
The ellesse Heritage AW16 range is extensive – far more than you’d probably anticipate, with a vast array of technical jackets, tees, accessories and even a couple of pairs of trainers. The stand out piece for us is the bold Mont ¼ Zip Jacket in Orange. Coming with a front kangaroo style pocket, this mountain parka is a perfect extra layer for a range of outdoor activities.
Other favourites in the collection include the beautiful satin lined Botinelli jacket in Navy, which comes with a contrasting detachable padded hood and functional pockets; and the Agosti crewneck tees (available in White, Navy and Orange), which feature a taped arm wide stripe and ellesse’s semi palla logo on the chest.
The Ellesse Heritage AW16 collection is available now from ellesse Website with jackets set around the £60-70 mark. Also check out ellesse’s collaborations with Elka from earlier this year.
