LC:M Autumn/Winter 14 – Day 2

The second day of London Collections: Men saw a vast array of different designers draping their newest pieces on a range of models and offering them up for the world to see. From Hackett to Vivienne Westwood and all fashion possibilities in between, there was something for everyone being showcased on the catwalk.

These 3 designers caught our eye on day two.

English brand You Must Create offered up a collection of pieces which combine a rugged grungy workmanlike feel with a more precise preppy vibe resulting in a array of functional wearable items that take traditional fashion principles and put a creative twist on them. Their collection pairs tailored trousers or denim with slouchy knits, jackets and worker boots or a formal shoe, and encapsulating the feeling of falling autumn and gloomy winter months in London through muted blues, greys and earth tones with flashes of rich orange throughout.

Rake LC:M AW14

Founded by British pair Will Adams and Clive Derby who learnt their trade at Savile Row tailors Kilgour, Rake provides the discerning gentleman with fashion forward classics offering the individual flexibility within their wardrobe. Whilst still maintaining a level of luxury, each of the pieces are designed as separates so that each can be worn with everything. The collection is adaptable whilst remaining tailored. Slim jackets, rolls neck jumpers and trench coats go over fitted and finely tailored shirts a-plenty. Cotton and flannel trousers complete the outfits and sat over a choice of oxfords, desert boots, slip ons or brogues.

Richard James LC:M AW14

Inspired by the party environment of the swinging sixty’s, Savile Row tailor Richard James presented a collection which showcased slim fitting suiting with narrow shawl and notch lapels, slim ties, and tapered trousers in a palate of browns, blues, olives and burgundy’s. Patterns were present and various fabric adding texture featuring herringbone, windowpane check and polkadot patterning made ma de fromlurex, flannel and velvet.
