Le Shark 2015 Collection
This may bring back a few memories to those of you as old as me! 80s/90s casualwear brand Le Shark are making a return to our wardrobes as online fashion retailer Tokyo Laundry added the renowned brand to its lineup. With vintage styles making a comeback, Le Shark is trying to join the party – fusing sports-inspired casualwear with an alternative look.
It’s clear to anyone with half an eye on the trends that the sports-inspired casual look is making it’s comeback with brands such as Fred Perry successfully hooking up Bradley Wiggins to create a mod-inspired cycling collection. Even an established heritage brand such as Barbour found it worthwhile to mix it up with adidas and collaborations are happening the world over.
Whilst Tokyo Laundry and never going to be near the top of any of our shopping lists, the Le Shark SS15 collection is certainly trying to capitalise on this trend with a collection that combines rock n’ roll looks with teddy boy influences and retro 90s styling. Featuring contemporary patterns such as subtle floral checks alongside eye-catching houndstooth knits. Key items include fine knitted polo shirts, short sleeved classic gingham shirts, woven shorts, Harrington jackets and cagoule style outerwear. There’ll also be swimwear showcasing bold repeat patterns which might come in useful in the summer months.
Some items that have perked our interest are the Abbey Mews White Polo and the Parker Navy Polo. All items come in at a very reasonable price point with polos costing from £14.99. Let’s just hope the low cost doesn’t mean a reduction in quality or a route towards the old French Connection. Time will tell.
