New Balance trainers have been an essential in our collections ever since they released their masterpiece 410 series. The Shoreditch crew soon caught wind, however, and now you can’t walk to your local East-end artisan deli without seeing pair. But this doesn’t make New Balance any less of a brand. Now the Boston based footwear makers have turned their hand to cycling with their new C-Series. Introducing the New Balance 996c and the New Balance 600c.

The series sees New Balance revamp and rework their 996 and 620 designs specifically for cycling. The shoes have reinforced forefoots and harder density rubber outsoles to prevent flex over the pedals. The also have a unique tongue pocket to tuck away flailing laces that may catch in the pedals. They also look happen to look immaculate.

The 996c is lightweight and possesses a cushioned insole with a rev lite mid-sole. It also distinguishes itself by using the iconic ‘N’ logo as a bike reflector. The New Balance 996c will retail at around £90.

Our favourite of the two, though, is the New Balance 600c. The slim silhouette has a slip-on construction and possesses a cork insole with perforated details on it’s design. It’s a little more expensive than the 996c coming in at around £150 but we think they look well worth the price tag. Our personal recommendation would be the 600c in mustard which look…. well, mustard.

The New Balance C-Series will be available at the end of January and found on New Balance.
