Nike Cortez Nylon

Following the release of the OG iteration of the Nike Cortez in February, the classic Nike Cortez Nylon is fully back in four colorways for the Spring 2015 season, and we’re once again reminded just how much we love retro trainers.
The Cortez is back again after a relatively hyped release of the classic Nike runner in three leather versions in late February. The slim and cool silhouette is back in four OG nylon versions in traditional colours: Red, Grey, Black and Green.
Looking like they came right off the track in the mid 1970s, the Cortez gets a nylon and suede combo upper, which evolved from its leather counterpart to give it a lightweight and breathable option. Each colourway dons white accents for the fat belly Swoosh on the heel tab and the midsole.
It’s no coincidence that Nike decided to bring back some original colorways of the Nike Cortez which featured in Forrest Gump – It was twenty years ago that the film took home Best Picture and five other awards at the Oscars.
The Red and Black colorways of the Nike Cortez Nylon will drop online this week at select retailers, including Size?, while the Green and Grey options will be released at some point in April. The Nike Cortez OG’s in February went on sale at around £80 and we reckon that’s a pretty good educated guess for the price of the Nylon’s too.
