German watch manufacturer NOMOS Glashütte have teamed up with the Nobel Peace Prize winning humanitarian organisation ‘Doctors Without Borders’ to raise money and awareness for the humanitarian work that medical staff carry out to help those affected by catastrophic events such as armed conflict, malnutrition or natural disaster.
The result of this collaboration are two special edition versions of the NOMOS Tangente and Tangente 33. The watches are mechanically wound, feature a special red twelve on the dial, a Doctors Without Borders logo under the six, and a crystal glass back through which you can see the movement at work.
The two versions come with slightly different diameter dials with a 33mm version or a 35mm, and 1000 of each special edition will be made, with £100 from the sale of each watch will go directly towards helping those in need.
The timepieces will be retailing at £1350 for the Tangente and £1220 for the Tangente 33, with no increase on price from the standard models as NOMOS and the retailers are waiving a share of their margin to make the watches more affordable and more appealing.
