We’ve long been fans of Danish label Norse Projects thanks to their signature Scandi-cool style and their premium craftsmanship. And our fandom looks set to continue with their debut collaboration with British icons Dr. Martens.
Rather than a full blown collection, the collaboration features a single pair of shoes. Norse Projects have put their Scandinavian touches to a reworked custom version of Dr. Martens’ 3-Eye Steed, an Oxford-style silhouette which packs some sophistication while still keeping some of that DM edge.
The low-profile classic military-inspired silhouette has an upper which is comprised of British water-repellent, Repello suede, and sits alongside a custom padded tongue in nylon ripstop – notorious for its lightweight but still strong quality.
The Norse Projects x Dr. Martens Steed sits on the iconic Goodyear-welted sole, a real signature for the British icon. Available in Black, Oxblood Red and White colourways, the shoes have been handcrafted in Northampton, where Dr. Martens still proudly practice their cobblers using the old school techniques they’ve become famed for.
While Dr. Martens may still be synonymous with the late 60s skinhead and the early 70s punk movements, we still think a pair of Docs can add some real class to your wardrobe if paired properly. Add in a touch of crisp minimalism from Norse Projects, and we think the duo are onto a winner.
The Norse Projects x Dr. Martens Steed will be available in stores today (28th April) and online from the Norse Projects Website tomorrow (Friday 29th April).
