Packer x Reebok Furylite Chukka
Midway through summer of 2015, Reebok and New Jersey-based Packer Shoes teamed up for a collaboration that would see a new trainer release for each season. Following on from summer’s Ventilator and autumn’s LX 8500, we’re now treated to the winter release in the form of the Furylite Chukka!
The third instalment of the ‘Four Seasons’ collection, the Packer x Reebok Furylite Chukka is a re-imagination with the perfect balance of suede and rubberised synthetic. This chukka is ideal for the cooler months, whether you’re a rural hiker or just an urban explorer.
The upper of the Furylite Chukka is constructed in a mix of suede, rubberised synthetic and ballistic mesh. The colourway is predominately a chilled combination of Blues and Greys but highlights are provided with some bright Orange accents on the lining and tongue. As well as adding some bold contrast, the accents are a clear nod to the season-long quest for warmth.
While we’re thinking warmer thoughts, insulation in the Furylite is provided by some much needed Thinsulate lining on the insole. No matter how cold it gets, the lining should keep things nice and toasty.
It’s not uncommon for collaborations to get things wrong – a mix of contrasting ideas can often have disappointing consequences, but we love what we’ve seen so far from Packer x Reebok. And we think the winter installation is the strongest offering in the Four Seasons range yet. We’re already looking forward to spring!
The Packer x Reebok Furylite Chukka from the Four Seasons collection is due to drop on Friday 5th February. You can grab a pair from various Websites including End Clothing where we’d expect the trainers will hit the £100 mark.
