Penfield 40th Anniversary Collection
One of our favourite outdoor fashion labels Penfield has just turned 40! To celebrate their birthday, the American brand has selected two of their most recognisable styles to be offered in limited edition quantities.
The two styles have been designed with a one-off anniversary fabric that’s used as the inside lining. Created using original design drawings and spec sheets dating back to 1975, the fabric features drawings of some of Penfield’s most recognisable styles from years gone by, including some by the hand of Penfield founder Harvey Gross.
Our favourite of the two styles on offer for Penfield’s 40th anniversary is unquestionably the Kasson. Coming in a classic Navy colourway, the hooded mountain parka comes with striking petrol can Red pop colour zippers and leather cord locks. Made from Penfield’s 60/40 fabric, a blend of cotton and Nylon, the Kasson was inspired by the original archive collection.
The other style in the collection is the Outback vest, again in Navy Blue. The Outback is a classic gilet which has been one of Penfield’s most celebrated styles since the very first collection 40 years ago.
Both styles feature the commemorative fabric as the lining and also possess a unique Penfield label with its individual number to mark its rarity. This is a limited edition collection and as such only 500 of each style will be released, with every garment labelling a unique 40th Anniversary label.
The Penfield 40th Anniversary collection is available from various stockists including Hypebeast, Present and, of course, the Penfield Website. The Kasson jacket will set Joes back £160, while the Outback vest comes in at £135.
