If you’re a regular follower of Average Joes, you’ll know how much we love US label Penfield. Perfectly fusing function, fashion and durability, Penfield are now firmly established here in the UK and they’re back for their spring/summer 2016 collection.
With garments made for Joes who like their gear inspired by the great outdoors, Penfield’s latest collection includes a range of essential coats, jackets and parkas, all designed with practicality and style in mind no matter the weather.
The Spring/Summer 2016 Men’s Collection features the return of some of Penfield’s staples like the immaculate Gibson Rain Jacket, the functional Pac Jac Packable Jacket and the Rochester Shell Jacket, but there’s also plenty of new additions to accompany the brand’s older styles with new garments featuring summer-inspired colourways and prints.
One of the newbies to the SS16 range is the Travel Shell, a lightweight and breathable jacket that’s extremely weatherproof. It’s ideal for the morning commute and weekend adventures, whether you’re in the country or the city. It retails at £100.
But our favourite in the collection is a Penfield classic. Although a staple, the Gibson rain jacket has been redesigned for the season in a highly weatherproof shell fabric, making it ideal for the unpredictable spring showers here in Blighty. A bargain at £105.
We also like the look of the Okenfield classic bomber jacket for £90. It’s fabricated from durable Nylon Taslon with tonal ribbed detailing and a versatile style that can be dressed up or down depending on the occasion.
It’s not only jackets that Penfield do well though, and the new collection features shirts and sweats which’ll keep things casual but still on point. The Brookvale classic long sleeve shirt and the Honaw classic crew neck sweater both feature an embroidered bear patch logo on the chest and will add some playfulness to your wardrobe. They both retail at £65.
