Puma Suede Sapphire
To celebrate the 45th anniversary of perhaps the most famous silhouette in the brands footwear collection, Puma have release a special edition of the Puma Suede, dubbed the Sapphire.
The Puma Suede is a classic style originally released as a basketball shoe in 1968. They have gone through phases of being popular with 1980’s B-Boys alongside with the 1990’s Acid Jazz and House scene, but this design brings it right up to date with the urban streetwear crowd with twists on the original design and a bright colourway.
In order to commemorate such an important milestone for such an iconic design, 450 pairs of the Puma Suede Sapphire have been released worldwide. The Sapphire edition features the customary suede upper with textured contrasting white sole and leather detailing. Logos are embossed in gold and the Suede Sapphire features a special tongue label and unique sapphire ‘gem’ labels on the heels which alongside the colour scheme has been included in honour of the relevant precious stone for a 45 year celebration.
Puma have also dropped a ‘Since 68’ anniversary pack, with a variety of designs to further honour the classic design which may be a bit more obtainable than getting a pair of these, as they will no doubt be sold out in seconds.
That being said that doesn’t make them any less handsome, and it’s safe to say they would add a drop of much needed colour to any subdued winter outfit. But don’t ruin that suede!
