Rains ‘Adapting’ Spring/Summer 2018 Collection
Nobody does rainwear better than the Scandinavians. And one label who’s had that category locked down in the last couple of years are the aptly named Rains. And for SS18, the Danish natives have unveiled a couple of camouflaged additions to their core range coming under the title of ‘Adapting’.
With a name like ‘Rains’, it’s hardly surprising that this Copenhagen-based brand specialise in protection from the elements. Thanks to Denmark’s unpredictable weather, Rains have learnt to fight the harsh weathers and even embrace it with durable and stylish garments with their SS18 collection focusing on ‘changing environments’ through the concept of adaptation.
As Rains put it, the invention of rainwear is in itself a result of adapting to our natural surroundings. So the brand have introducing a collection of use-specific products as well as a new camouflage series, drawing inspiration from both society and nature’s incessant need to adapt to one another.
The SS18 range is an assortment of Rains classics tweaked with a muted palette of mainly greens and browns. Standout pieces include the new sea camo AOP Parka Jacket, and our favourite, the Camp Anorak in Dark Teal; a pullover which comes with an elegant yet sporty fit. The water-resistant Breaker in Faded Blue is also straight on the ‘want list.’
As well as all of the rainwear classics the label is so famed for, the collection also features a variety of accessory items, including bag and headwear options with many donning the SS18 sea camo pattern.
The Rains SS18 collection is available now over at the Rains Website. Prices start at around £84 (€94) for the Camp Anorak and rise to around £120 (€134) for the AOP Parka.
