Reebok Aztec OG
Retro shoes don’t come much better than these… Reebok have announced the return of a genuine 70s running icon in the form of the Aztec!
The Aztecs are an ultra-classic pair of sports trainers that Reebok first made in 1979, and thankfully they’ve stuck faithfully to the original OG make-up so the Aztec can return in all its striking glory.
At the time of release, the Aztec was famed for being the most technically advanced runner to date. Having delved into the archives, the 2015 Aztec is decked out with nylon and suede constructed uppers for lightweight durability, with classic Reebok branding details.
The colourway sees a predominantly Blue upper and matching Blue D-ring speed laces contrasted by bursts of Red and Yellow on the formstripes and tongue label branding, as well as a dash of White on the heel panel.
There’s a dual density midsole with PORON cushioning in White and Blue, and the Unit II outsole comes in Black with a replaceable carbon heel.
Retro-running shoes have seen a resurgence recently and are probably at the peak of their popularity. Even if you don’t like the Reebok Aztecs, you’d be hard pressed to say they don’t look the epitome of retro.
The Reebok Aztec OG is launching on the 22nd August this year. You can get them from various UK retailers, including Oi Polloi, for around £80.
