One of horology’s biggest names, Richard Mille has just released details and images for one of its most playful and colourful collections to date. Named the Bonbon Collection, timepieces are inspired by all things confectionary.
Richard Mille has brought together the world’s most skilled fine arts craftspeople to produce 10 playful models for the Bonbon Collection. Displaying a total of 60 pop colours across six Carbon TPT and Quartz TPT cases, the collection is categorised into two lines; a ‘Fruit’ line and a ‘Sweets’ line.
The Fruit line naturally plays homage to fruity sweets with six different models each with a different hue: Lemon and Strawberry (RM 16-01), Blueberry and Litchi (RM 07-03), Kiwi and Cherry (RM 37-01). The Sweets collection comprises four models, all with two-tone ceramic cases: The RM 07-03 Cupcake, RM 07-03 Marshmallow, RM 37-01 Sucette (Lollipop) and RM 16-01 Réglisse (Liquorice).
All models in the Bonbon Collection are further characterised by 3,000 miniature sculptures which have been painted in acrylics and lacquered by hand, before being ‘sugar coated’ using powdered enamel and in the fine sand found in hourglasses.
On the collection, Artistic Director Cécile Guenat commeneted, “Bonbon – just saying the word is enough to make you smile. It manages to convey a combination of pleasure, good cheer and sharing all at once. This collection is disruptive, elegant, daring and playful. In a word: creative!”
The Richard Mille Bonbon Collection is set to go on sale in boutiques around the world at some point in the summer with prices starting at around the £120,000 mark. Find out more info over at the Richard Mille Website.
