Sneakers: The Complete App
If you love your trainers as much as we do, we think you’re going to get a serious kick out of Sneakers: The Complete App.
Sneakers: The Complete App is an encyclopaedic iPad app to sneaker culture and collecting. With over 500 shoe designs featured in depth, it’s an indispensable reference for all fans of the humble sneaker.
The app features in-depth looks at over 500 shoe designs from big hitters in the footwear world including the likes of adidas, Air Jordan, Asics, Converse, Fila, Lacoste, Le Coq Sportif, New Balance, Nike, Pro-Keds, Puma, Reebok, Saucony and Vans. As you can probably guess by now, it’s comprehensive.
On the app, you’ll find a 360-degree rotation graphic for every sneaker as well as high-res images, and you can filter trainers to and show certain segment of shoe, or even view them all in a timeline. There are also complex interactive looks at the anatomy of the sneakers.
The app is based on two prior books from makers U-Dox, Sneakers: The Complete Collectors’ Guide, published in 2005 and Sneakers: The Complete Limited Editions Guide, published in 2014 – essentially coffee table book versions of the app. They also sell the concept in a Top Trumps Game and in a Postcards set.
You’ll need iOS 7.0 or later and it’s compatible only with an iPad, not an iPhone unfortunately. Having said that, you’ll want the bigger screen to enjoy the app in its full glory anyway! The Sneakers: The Complete App is available on iTunes and will set you back around £6.99.
