St Andrews Fashion Show 2013

Over the last 20 years, the St Andrews Fashion Show has developed into the largest and most high profile student fashion show in the country with Kate Middleton the (now Katherine Duchess of Cambridge) being the most famous of previous models, and of course Prince William as the most famous guest. And it is of course all for charity.
This year’s show was no different with a list of corporate collaborators that London Fashion Week would be proud of, and a list of designers including the likes of Tommy Hilfiger, and 21st Century kilts (as worn by Vin Diesel & Lenny Kravitz).
Our main aim for the visit was judging the huge array of talent on offer for the Alfa Romeo Young Designer Award 2013, but it didn’t stop us having a look at the main show and taking in the atmosphere. Following a delightful dinner, the evening affair took place in the university quadrangle under a marquee of vast proportions, the entrance to which was framed using a number of Alfa Romeo’s Giulietta and Mito cars. The night began in earnest with the models strutting around in men’s and ladieswear collections from the finest up and coming designers from around the globe.
Sitting on Alfa’s table at the foot of the runway displayed the catwalk collections in their finest light. The Alfa Romeo Young Designer finalist’s collections were all showcased, and there was a charity auction with some of the finest wares in the land being bid for. What followed was a rawkus fashion show afterparty by the name of WHITE SPACE, with fun, frolics and Nicolas Feuillatte champagne being lavished upon by students.
All in all it was a wonderful weekend, and St Andrews comes fully recommended. It is a beautiful juxtaposition of medieval history with a young, fresh & vibrant student soul. For more information check out St Andrews Fashion Show.
