Late year The North Face launched the brand’s first dedicated European lifestyle space in Covent Garden. While that may have just been a pop-up, the brand moved the concept to nearby Carnaby Street and the latest exclusive collection to be featured in the unique space is The North Face’s collaboration with Commes des Garçons designer Junya Watanabe.

The North Face x Comme des Garçons AW17 Collection

The North Face x Comme des Garçons limited edition fall/winter collection will drop in The North Face’s lifestyle store at 8 Carnaby Street thiss Thursday 31st August. Featuring ‘reconstructed’ outwear and apparel, the collection sees Junya Watanabe reimagine one of The North Face’s most iconic products.

The Commes des Garçons collaboration reimagines the form of The North Face’s Basecamp Duffel bag. In this limited collection, Watanabe deconstructs the functional design of the Basecamp Duffel bag and uses it as a foundation to create daring interpretations of classic outerwear, including hoodies, jackets and parkas.

The North Face’s unique Carnaby store will be the only TNF store in Europe to house the CdG drop, alongside some limited wholesale partners. The store is the only dedicated space to its lifestyle collection in Europe, housing products from its limited edition capsule and Japanese inspired collections.

On the collaboration, Edouard Gros, Lifestyle Product Merchant, The North Face EMEA says: “This collaboration between The North Face® and Commes des Garçons is a first for the brands and gives a new angle to our classic designs; with the functionality of the Basecamp Duffel being redirected for a brand new range of outwear.”

The North Face x Comme des Garçons collection drops tomorrow (Thursday 31st August) with only a few pieces of each items available. So head down to Carnaby Street asap or head to The North Face Website for more details.
