Yorkshire Outdoor Label TOG24 Celebrates 60 Years
With the temperatures all of a sudden plummeting, it’s time to drop the shorts and flip-flops and to start looking at updating your wardrobe with some key outerwear pieces. And one British label which should be on your radar is Yorkshire outdoor lifestyle brand, TOG24 who are celebrating their 60th anniversary.
TOG24 are now 60 years old. Founded by Donald Ward in 1958, the West Yorkshire company is now in its 3rd generation within the Ward family and continues to produce the highest quality outdoor products under the values instilled by Donald six decades ago. From a weekend walk to the pub to a family ski trip, TOG24 have you covered with technical and stylish pieces for all ages.
If you’re not familiar with the brand, TOG24 stands for ‘Truth Over Glory Everyday’, an ethos which runs through every aspect of the company. Since their inception, the brand have remained committed to making the outdoors accessible to every Joe through a line-up of high quality, reasonably priced pieces designed to cater for every aspect of the ‘true’ outdoors.
Donald Ward began his career as a millwrights apprentice and by the late 50s had all he needed to go it alone. TOG24 was born. Now run by Ward’s children and grandchildren, the label is still based today in its original location in the Spen Valley town of Heckmondwike.
The brand initially produced footwear before branching into sports bags and football kits throughout the 70s, eventually specialising in waterproof coats and fleeces. Nowadays, the label has grown with ski wear and casual clothing also found in their portfolio.
