Vans have unveiled the latest addition to their much loved Anaheim Factory Collection, which pays homage to the brand’s 50-year plus footwear history with new silhouettes and colourways resurrected from the archives. For the spring release, Vans honours a beloved silhouette – the Style 73.
The Style 73 DX joins Vans’ Anaheim Factory reissue range, complete with a retro nod to the Vans sport-style of the early ’90s. Inspired by the original Vans factory in Anaheim, California, the Style 73 DX updates comes with a high foxing, high gloss sidewall finish, suede uppers and a custom woven label.
By borrowing details from the OG models produced in the brand’s early years of footwear design, Vans offers the Anaheim Factory Collection with the modernised comfort of the likes of their UltraCush sockliners, which provide even more comfort and impact cushioning.
The first instalment of 2019 features throwback design details including utilising the original style numbers and colour palettes, reissued prints, higher-glossed foxing tape, cotton laces and original drill lining weight to complete the vintage aesthetic.
The Vans Anaheim Factory Pack Style 73 DX will be available in Black, Red, and Light Blue on Friday 15th 2019 over at the Vans Website and in selected stores. A pair will set you back £65.
Earlier this year, Vans unveiled their first new collection for 2019. Inspired by 70s retro design, three of Vans’ Classic footwear models were updated for the Patchwork Pack, with the Era, Sk8-Hi and Slip-On getting a multi-coloured makeover for Spring.
