Vans Cork Authentic

Very few trainer brands can pull off a pattern quite like Vans and their Authentic silhouette. Cats, comic books, flowers… no matter what the design, the Authentic can pull off the lot! You may call them ‘gimmicks’ but we call them badass ‘patterns’. The latest in that mould that gets our subtle nod of approval is the Vans Cork Authentic.
The Cork Authentic combines the original and now genuinely iconic Vans low top style with an all-over cork print, sturdy canvas uppers, metal eyelets, and the Vans’ signature waffle outsoles. Vans opted to give the silhouette a cork-patterned canvas as opposed to real cork material.
Cork has been used in the past by other brands, such as Nike and New Balance, but the argument is that they’re a little too heavy and don’t offer much in the way of flexibility. Pretty obvious when you think about it! The use of canvas should, in theory, provide added breathability for those hot summer days (although they’re becoming less frequent!).
The Vans Cork Authentic trainers are on sale at various outlets and they’re priced usually around the £50 mark. We’re surprised with ourselves by how much we like them and think they’d be a great addition to any summer wardrobe. You can get pair at the Office shoes Website now!
