We love a collaboration here at Average Joes. But sometimes we can’t help but feel creativity hasn’t really been shared between brands, with the only thing that makes it a ‘collaboration’ is an after-thought logo stuck on the insole or label.
But that’s certainly not the case with probably our favourite collaboration of 2015. Introducing the WTAPS x Vans Autumn/Winter 2015 collection!
Japanese military-inspired streetwear giants WTAPS have got together with the luxury arm of the original skate brand, Vans Vault, to reconstruct the Era LX, Style 36 LX, Sk8-Hi LX, and Old Skool trainers, and we absolutely adore the results.
The range includes the classic OG Era LX, which comes in the all-White upper canvas and has been paired with some classic vulcanised outer-soles in the bold colourways to really add some eye-catching contrast. The Eras come in with either Blue, Green or Red outer-soles.
The partnership continues with an OG Style 36 LX (the original version of the Old Skool) in three premium suede tonal versions of Black, Navy and a beautiful Burgundy. To finish off the collection the OG Sk8-Hi LX (essentially a high-top Old Skool), comes in two premium elephant print embossed leather versions to really add a touch of the premium.
Each pair in the partnership collection dons a custom WTAPS tags on the tongue and the side-panels which emulates classic Vans silhouettes. Co-branding is found on the insole.
We adore this collection and it’s due to drop here the UK on the 12th September. They’re available from plenty of stocklists including End Clothing.
