Airbnb Night at The Shark Aquarium
If you’ve always wondered what it’s like to live under the sea gazing at sharks, and not necessarily in a pineapple, now’s your chance with Airbnb! The lodging company are offering Joes and Janes the chance to spend the night in an underwater bedroom, where the only thing separating you from your finned neighbours is a 360-degree glass wall.
Part of Airbnb’s ‘Night At’ series, the experience will take place in France at the capital’s Aquarium de Paris. The sleepover involves taking in all the sights the aquarium has to offer. On arrival the winners and their guests will be welcomed by host, Fred Buyle, a world record-breaking freediver and shark enthusiast, who will introduce you to your sharky neighbours for the night.
Once you’re settled, you’ll get a guided tour through the aquarium, and be provided with an exclusive behind-the-scenes glimpse into the world of sharks: how they live, why they’re so misunderstood, and their importance to the ocean’s ecosystem.
You’ll then get to enjoy an intimate meal with a breath-taking tank-side view before retiring to you humble enclosure for the evening, complete with a large cylindrical bed and immersive views of your new sharp-toothed friends. Only thing to remember is no selfies after dark – sharks don’t like the light!
The legendary aquarium is located in front of the iconic Eiffel Tower, so you can get some serious sightseeing in around Paris too. In order to enter the competition, all you need to do is produce a 50-550 characters short piece on why you belong with the sharks the end of play on the 3rd April.
Winners of the Airbnb Night at The Shark Aquarium competition will be flown from wherever they live. You also must be lighter than 190kgs and available to spend the night on 11th-13th April. Check out more details on the Airbnb Website.
