Floating Seahorse Villa, Dubai
Dubai is hardly known for its subtlety and thriftiness – it is home to an indoor ski resort and a fleet of police supercars, don’t forget – but it’s hard not to be impressed with the UAE’s thirst for opulence and architectural gimmickery. Which is why we love the look of the Floating Seahorse Villas!
It’s not the first time we’ve featured floating abodes here at Average Joes (check out the Floating House by Waterlovt) but the Floating Seahorse Villa by the Kleindienst Group takes things to a whole new level with an exceptional getaway experience like no other.
Each Seahorse retreat features three levels with four flexi-living/sleeping areas in total. Spanning 4,004 square feet, some of the Floating Villas rooms are located above water for fantastic views of the Dubai skyline, while bedrooms and some living spaces are submerged under water and offers views of the ocean.
There eight main rooms, including a majli (living room) and a bedroom on the upper level; and a family room and bedroom on the sea level. With view of the surrounding coral garden and marine life, the completely submerged level features an underwater ladies room and master bedroom, a coral entertainment room and a coral guest bedroom.
During the daytime all rooms can be used to serve various purposes and by night, they can be transformed into luxury sleeping accommodation. Conditions are kept in check all year round too thanks to the on-board climate controlled technology.
Though the Floating Seahorse Villa was launched last year, the estimated completion date for its first phase is due in October. Overall, 40 units are being designed, engineered and built in the UAE, and we’ll be sure to keep you updated when things are up and running.
