Is This the ‘World’s Most Private Island Resort’?
With the chill setting for winter in here in the UK, you’d be forgiven for thinking of booking yourself a beachside retreat. And if privacy is of the utmost importance, you couldn’t really get more idyllic than the Gladden Private Island Resort, dubbed ‘the world’s the most private island resort.’
Located in the Caribbean’s Belize Barrier Reef Reserve System, the Gladden Private Island Resort is described as being ‘on the edge of the widest and most picturesque section’ of its region, which boasts the longest reef in the Western Hemisphere and is the second largest on the planet.
Gladden can be found 20 miles off the coast of Placencia, Belize and is therefore the furthest island from the mainland and closest to the protected side of the reef. As such, it boats ‘a swirl of turquoise and aquamarine lagoons’, as well as all the amenities you’d need for a once-in-a-lifetime getaway.
The luxury resort features a 3,000-square-foot villa, with stunning views of the surrounding coral reef from every room. Alongside a master suite and large seating areas, there’s also a roof terrace perfect for bathing in the sun. Though the villa was built for two, there is also a second master bedroom should you want to share the experience with another couple.
A stay at Gladden really is all inclusive with all meals prepared by a gourmet chef, all beverages and various mainland excursions included. You can also go snorkelling and scuba diving or get yourself a spa treatments. Just off Gladden, the island’s staff reside in an unseen smaller island but apart from that it is just you and the views.
