Mar Adentro Hotel, Mexico
Continuing our quest to find the most unique hotels across the globe, take a look at the Mar Adentro Hotel in Mexico. Located minutes from downtown San Jose del Cabo on the Sea of Cortez in Baja California Sur, the luxury complex has been dubbed ‘the most minimalist hotel on the planet’.
The Mar Adentro Hotel is the vision of renowned Mexican architect Miguel Ángel Aragonés and features an exceptional 143-suite five-star hotel (a member of the Small Luxury Hotels chain), as well as 30 private residences and 9 estates.
There’s 198 guest rooms to choose from and each accommodation has been designed by Aragonés with simplicity, comfort and elegance in mind. The all-White rooms are custom fitted with sleek Poliform furnishings and top-of-the-line appliances, and there’s a relaxing ocean view and roof-top infinity pool in all the suites to ensure there’s no fuss, just time to enjoy the finer things.
The Mar Adentro complex comes complete with a private beach club, a luxury shopping plaza, five world-class restaurants, yoga and fitness facilities, and the holistic Mar Abierto Spa. Though, if you’d rather release than conserve your energy, the waves just down the road at Costa Azul beach are some of the best for surfing in the region.
Miguel Ángel Aragonés’ design is clean and purposeful. A single, floating pathway connects Mar Adentro’s spa, restaurants, art gallery and beach club, and the centre of the complex is dominated by a thatched-like drinking and dining space for all guests.
Just a 10-minute drive from Los Cabos International Airport, the Mar Adentro Hotel’s soft opening will begin in just a few days and they’re already taking bookings from around £340 a night. To find out more about the hotel and to check availability, head over to the Mar Adentro Website.
