Smirnoff Sensation UK

For the first time in its 10 year history Smirnoff brings its legendary brand of vodka splashed entertainment to the shores of the UK on 13th August 2011. This massive touring festival rave finally hits our sceptred isle having spent the past decade travelling other cities, packing out entire arenas and stadiums with white-clad revellers all with one goal in common: to share the sensation experience.

Previous host countries are spread across the globe, both northern and southern hemispheres. These include its spiritual home in Russia, and also in Australia, Belgium, the Ukraine, Spain, Brazil and a personal favourite, the Czech Republic. Each epic night has a specific theme, rolled out ostentatiously to ensure an unrivalled night of Smirnoff fuelled indulgence and unequalled fun.

Coming to the impressive O2 Arena in London will be the ‘Ocean of White’. The Ocean of White theme has previously been rolled out in Amsterdam back in 2008, although it is likely to have undergone a change in order to enrapture the sell-out crowd expected. 10,000 party goes are instructed to arrive dressed from head-to-toe in white, to create a truly unifying experience. Although actually, shoes and accessories don’t necessarily have to be white – so you’ll be able to indentify women by more than just “that hot girl in the white”. She can simply be “that hot girl in the white with those, um, red shoes?”

The huge O2 is set to be ‘transformed into one of Sensation’s most epic stage shows, the Ocean of White. Guests can look forward to breathtaking fountains set on a giant dance floor which will evaporate into millions of splashes, grand sea creatures will rise from the depths…’ It’s all very inspiring and dramatic and has got me dreaming of a giant fountain of vodka, like the river of chocolate in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory.

Indeed, its not just decor, performance art or dancing that will be making this evening something truly unique for its guests. The Smirnoff Co. will be creating ‘unique drinking experiences’. These are reportedly set to include special cocktails at various bars throughout the venue, created by professional mixologists. I don’t think its much of a leap of faith to assume that Smirnoff’s ‘unique experiences’ will prove extremely enjoyable and just as tasty.

To go with these fantastic promises, Smirnoff have more recently announced a stellar line-up of dance music DJs that will raise the stupidly dome shaped roof of the O2. Expect to be dancing into the early hours to music and mixes from some of the worlds very best DJs. Opening the proceedings will be Sensation’s resident DJ, Mr White, followed by DJ Erick E. Joris Voorn and Nic Fanciulli who are teaming up especially for this event. Following these two is international superstar DJ and DJ Mix Mag’s no.21 top 100 DJ’s, Fedde Le Grand. On afterwards is Martin Solveig who you may all know for his recent hit ‘Hello’, before Sander Van Doorn, the Sensation resident and DJ Mix Mag no.12 DJ finishes the night off with his superlative style.

Check in on their official website, www.sensation.com for news and updates, check their facebook page or their twitter @SmirnoffGB. Tickets are sold out, and did so at a remarkable pace, but if you are desperate, keep an eye on twitter and Facebook for any last minute Smirnoff give aways.

Are you going? Let us know! We’ll be the guys dressed all in white…
