Disney’s Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is Getting Its Own Immersive Hotel
Earlier this year Disney announced that a Star Wars-themed park would be coming to its Disneyland Resort and Walt Disney World in Florida at some point in 2019. While you probably don’t need much more encouragement to get your tickets booked, Disney have just announced that Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge is going to feature its very own immersive hotel, complete with roaming characters!
Yes, as part of their 14-acre Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge park, which will feature rides and shows based on the franchise, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Walt Disney Parks & Resorts, has just confirmed that a galaxy far far way-themed resort will also debut as part of the new Disney 360 vacation concept.
Disney have released some concept art for the hotel, and from the images alone it look like the experience will be one huge cosplay hotel for all the family with guests donning Star Wars-esque uniforms and becoming part of a story that unfolds around them, with androids and aliens played by actors as well.
According to Chapek, the revolutionary new vacation experience will be “unlike anything that exists today,” adding, “From the second you arrive, you will become a part of a Star Wars story! You’ll immediately become a citizen of the galaxy and experience all that entails, including dressing up in the proper attire. Once you leave Earth, you will discover a starship alive with characters, stories, and adventures that unfold all around you. It is 100% immersive, and the story will touch every single minute of your day, and it will culminate in a unique journey for every person who visits.”
The immersive hotel at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge sounds absolutely incredible, and we’re certain Star Wars fans around the world will be rejoicing. Keep your eye on the Disney Parks Blog in the coming months for updates.
