With their sexy-and-trendy-bar-meets-modern-steakhouse concept, STK restaurants have been sweeping the States and beyond by storm. What began in Manhattan’s Meatpacking District has branched out to LA, Chicago and has even reached Europe with a steakhouse in Milan and London. The eighth incarnation of STK has just been renovated on Miami Beach.
STK originated with the slogan, ‘Not your daddy’s steakhouse’ and it’s easy to see why with a modern design and even an in-house DJ resulting in a high-energy restaurant that focuses on the social experience as well as contemporary eating.
It would therefore seem appropriate that Miami’s trendy South Beach gets its own STK. Formerly the Gansevoort South Beach hotel, the original Miami STK closed when 1 Hotel bought the plot. It was then slated to reopen in December 2014 but an accidental flood postponed its grand unveiling. STK has weathered the storm, though, and it’s finally open for business, even before the hotel’s official launch date.
Head Chef Aaron Taylor has reimagined classic American cuisine for an innovative menu with signature dishes like bite-sized Lil BRGs made with Wagyu beef, Lobster Mac & Cheese, Foie Gras French Toast and, of course, the highest quality Prime steak.
STK Miami is located on Collins Avenue and boasts more than 10,000 sq. ft. across two levels. There’s a lounge with a DJ at all times and a spacious bar area, as well private dining rooms and two large artworks in the entrance by young local artist Jessy Nite. This is contemporary dining at its very best.
“We are thrilled to be reopening in Miami, one of the original STK markets,” said Jonathan Segal, CEO of the One Group, which owns STK. “STK Miami’s renovation perfectly captures and elevates the STK experience, and we are particularly proud of the exciting new design of the venue. We’re confident that our guests will love the space and look forward to once again offering Miami the food, fun, and energy that sets STK apart.”
If you’re heading to Miami, we think you should make a night of it at STK for a dynamic fine-dining steakhouse experience that your daddy won’t approve of!
