Always on the lookout for some of the country’s most interesting hotels and accommodations, our search has taken us south to the Sussex countryside. Take a look at this awesome converted Big Green Bus which comes complete with a fully-fitted kitchen, lounge and sleeps up to 6.
The Big Green Bus starting its life out as a 1982 West Midlands metro bus. Sitting within a private woodland in the heart of the Sussex countryside, there’s no getting away from the fact that you’re on a bus, with many of the original bus fittings re-used throughout the conversion so not to forget its past.
Downstairs there’s a fully-fitted kitchen and lounge/dining area with a cosy log burner, and there’s also a toilet and wet room. Upstairs, there’s room for three bedrooms: two full size doubles and one bunk bed room. At the front of the bus there’s also a chill out space where you can take in the views of the surrounding countryside, or kick back with a book or a board game on one the buses’ two original seats.
As it’s set in the countryside among forestry, the outside space is just as important to your stay as the bus itself. You’ll find a second heated shower, a fire pit and lots of special spots amongst the trees to sit and relax. Not only that, there’s also a wood fired hot tub which can be hired for the duration of your stay.
The whole concept behind the bus was to create a space where holiday makers can enjoy the countryside in a unique way. There’s no wireless internet on site and amplified music is not allowed on site either, so a stay on The Big Green Bus really is an opportunity to relax and unwind.
The Big Green Bus is located in the small village of Holme’s Hill, Sussex, around a 30 minute drive from Eastbourne. Head over to the Big Green Bus Website where you book a two night stay for around £50 per person per night.
