Hackett & Williams Martini Racing – The Coolest Pitstop Ever
Celebrating their recent collaboration, sartorial style briefly stepped onto the noisy and rubber tarnished pit lanes of F1 when Hackett London transformed the pit crew of the Williams Martini Racing Team into the sharpest dressed team to ever grace the hallowed pit lanes of F1.
Replacing their usual ‘all in one’ overalls for something a lot more elegant, 17 members from Williams Martini Racing went through practice sporting Hackett suits, shirts, ties and, of course, white pocket handkerchiefs. You’ll see Hackett decking out the whole team throughout the season, including drivers Felipe Massa, Valtteri Bottas and Susie Wolff.
Now the official clothing supplier to the Williams Martini Racing team from the 2015 season onwards, Hackett have produced a limited edition replica kit range featuring Hackett x Williams Martini Racing branded team shirts, t-shirts, polos and outerwear, which the team will wear themselves. Of course, the Martini racing stripe is also present throughout.
“Motorsport has been a part of the Hackett DNA for many years now and the prospect of working with one of the giants of F1 sends shivers up and down my spine,” said Jeremy Hackett. “The Martini racing stripe has always been heralded as a marque of prestige and luxury and it seemed only natural for Hackett to style the team for the new season. I also noticed that Hackett was founded the same time Williams won its first World Championship…an omen, if ever there was one!”
The Williams Martini Racing range is now available and appears in Hackett’s Regent St store in May, when the F1 calendar returns to Europe. The suits worn by the crew in the video are also available in most Hackett stores now. Check out the pretty epic looking video below.
