Robbie Savage Meets: Phil Taylor
Last updated on November 15th, 2015 at 12:08 pm
It’s December, and for the couch sportsman amongst us, it not only means premium board game time to flex our competitive muscles, but also the chance to watch some damn good darts! Of course, every Christmas and New Year is when we all dust off our old Darts board from the garage, nail it to the back of a door, and LETS PLAY DARTS!
One of the men who has entertained us more than most is of course Phil ‘The Power’ Taylor. His 16 World titles and nine televised 9 darters have provided at times, some of the most captivating sport on television. To celebrate this, and as part of the new series Robbie Savage Meets, William Hill caught up with Phil to talk grudges, world titles and darts.
Although darts went through somewhat of a transition, with players split between the BDO (BBC televised) and PDC (SKY televised), there is no doubting darts, and in-particular the PDC with Barry Hearn at the helm has been dragged from the cliff edge to become a mainstream televised sport. And if you ever get the chance to go along, we really suggest you do!!
You can view the WH, Robbie Savage Meets: Phil Taylor video below, it’s a bit of a slow burner, and begs the question (again!) whether Robbie is right for TV, but pull up a beer, have a think and do let us know what you think and who you believe will become victorious at this years World Darts Championship.
