adidas Golf adipower boost
If you read Average Joes regularly, you’ll already be aware of adidas’ ‘boost’ shoe technology. Well, unsurprisingly adidas Golf have got in on act announcing an all new golf footwear that utilises the revolutionary boost cushioning technology.
Available for both men and women, the all-new adipower boost shoe is designed to deliver maximum energy return, responsiveness and unparalleled comfort while playing 18 holes.
For those who aren’t familiar with the technology, adidas’ innovative boost foam cushioning is comprised of thousands of TPU (Thermoplastic Polyurethane) energy capsules fused together by way of a proprietary high pressure steam molding process. Its function is to store and release energy efficiently throughout the swing delivering maximum energy return as athletes perform.
adidas say that while traditionally used EVA foam hardens and softens dramatically when temperatures fluctuate, boost foam retains consistent cushioning and is incredibly responsive in both hot and cold conditions. Combined with a lace-in saddle, fitsleeve tongue wrapping, external heel counter and a fitfoam PU sockliner, the adipower boost delivers a more precise, comfortable fit for all golfers.
Jason Day, ranked #8 in the current Official World Golf Ranking, seems pretty impressed: “When I first put them on, I immediately noticed how comfortable they were. I didn’t want to take them off,” said Day. “During the swing, the energy return is noticeable – as if you can feel the technology in action. I wanted to keep them the moment I saw them. They feel good, and look good too.”
The men’s adipower boost will be available in five colourways: White/Core Black/Bahia Blue, Core Black/Neo Iron Metallic, Dark Silver Metallic/White/Night Flash, White/Silver Metallic, White & Night Flash/Silver Metallic/Solar Yellow. So there’s plenty of choice depending on how Ian Poulter you like to go. They’re available from the 27th February and will retail at around £129.99.
