Becks & Zizu Team Up for the adidas Predator 19+
Not only is it their 70th anniversary this year, adidas are also celebrating 25 years of the iconic Predator. And what better way to mark the occasion than a collaboration between two of the most iconic Predator players of all-time? Yes, David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane have come together to put their spin on the current Predator 19+, and it’s a beauty.
Having already dropped special editions of their respective individual Predators last week, Becks and Zizu have unveiled the Predator 19+ ‘25 Years of Predator’ edition, arriving as both an FG football boot and a trainer.
Unlike the aforementioned releases, the 19+ is an icon built for today. However, the boot references the Zidane Accelerator in its gold colourway (honouring Zidane’s 1998 Ballon d’Or award) – it’s just been given a twist with the iconic red, white and black that’s become synonymous with the silhouette.
The left boot features ‘ZZ’ embroidered on the collar, while the right sports ‘DB’, honouring both legends. Construction-wise, the Controlskin upper keeps the ball glued to your feet, while Primeknit upper is engineered for targeted support that enhances movement. A layer of responsive Boost cushioning finishes things off, distributing pressure across the whole sole.
The same initials appear on the trainer too, only this time it’s on a white base that pays homage to Beckham’s Precision, with the iconic triumvirate of colours appearing once again. Knit textile upper delivers a supportive heel-to-toe fit for enhanced feel and control, while Boost tech offers adidas’ most responsive cushioning ever.
The David Beckham and Zinedine Zidane Predator 19+ ‘25 Years of Predator’ editions are available now. The Boot will set you back £279.95, while the trainers are cheaper at £169.95.
To kick off their 70th anniversary celebrations, earlier this year adidas released a new itineration of one of the game’s most iconic football boots. Take a look at the COPA70.
