Last week tech giants Bose announced the SoundWear Companion, a Bluetooth speaker that you can wear around your neck like a scarf. It’s fair to say the Companion has split the crowd, but there can be no doubts about the awesomeness of their latest drop in the completely wireless SoundSport Free earphones.

Bose SoundSport Free Completely Wireless Earphones

The Bose wireless SoundSport earbuds have been around for a while now, and like most of Bose’s creations, they’re one of the leaders in the market in terms of performance. But though they used Bluetooth, they were never truly ‘wireless’ with a physical connection between the two earbuds. That is until now with the new completely wireless SoundSport Free earphones.

The SoundSport Free earbuds are Bose’s first truly wireless in-ear headphones. As the name suggests, they’re designed to be used when working out. That means they’re engineered to stay in place, and stay comfortable, as well as being sweat- and water-proof.

Bose say the new earphones are unmatched when it comes to comfort and stability. They’ve engineered the nozzle of the StayHear+ Sport tips to spread contact evenly around the inside of your ear, while the fin conforms naturally to the shape of the upper ridge of your ear. They won’t fall out, but they will stay comfortable.

There’s also just enough room to add a multi-functional button to the volume control, which can play, pause, skip, or take and end phone calls. The volume-optimized EQ and Bose digital signal processing make music sound full and balanced at any volume too, which means no matter how crowded the gym is, your workout playlist will always be heard.

The earbuds have enough charge for up to five hours of playback, but an accompanying case not only keeps them protected, it also provides two additional full charges (or up to 10 hours of battery life). A quick 15-minute charge will also give you 45 minutes of battery if you’re in desperate need.

Price-wise the new versions of the SoundSport Free earbuds are naturally a little more expensive coming in at the around the £250 mark as opposed to the £150 for the original SoundSport earphones. But really, that’s to be expected with the advances and new features.

The Bose SoundSport Free completely wireless earbuds are available now in the US for $249.95, but we’d expect them to make their way over this side of the Atlantc very soon. Head over to the Bose Website for more details.
