Well, due to 3 teams playing in the UEFA Cup on Thursday, we are presented with an odd set of fixtures this weekend, with only 4 games being played on Saturday, and a game which was all set-up to be the title decider on Monday, but is now pretty much just a run of the mill derby fixture!

EPL Predictions & Team News 6 - 8 Apr 2013

Reading v Southampton – Saturday 6 April 2013 – 1245KO

It was only a year ago when both these sides hit the riches of the Premier League, but since then both have made wholesale changes including their manager. At the time Southampton’s decision to disperse with Nigel Adkins services seemed strange, but they are actually playing really well and have cut out the sloppy trait of throwing away points and are looking up towards mid-table now rather than relegation. Adkins now has the chance to give his ex-employers a bit of a bloody nose in what is now do or die time for Reading.

Premier League Team News: Jimmy Kebes’ troublesome groin is The Royals only problem this weekend, with Federici expected to reclaim the keeper’s jersey. The Saints should have skipper Lallana back and Boruc has overcome his dizziness problem that forced him off against Chelsea last weekend.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 1-1
Dream Team Star Man: Jay Rodriguez

Norwich v Swansea – Saturday 6 April 2013 – 1500KO

Neither of these sides can buy a win at present, which means that Norwich are now looking over their shoulders but they should have enough to be safe. There seems to have been a falling out between boss Chris Hughton and last year’s star Grant Holt, so don’t be surprised to see some transfer movement there come the summer.

I know a few of the guys here are from Norwich, and Joe think they should have shipped him out last year!

Premier League Team News: Mark Bunn should replace Lee Camp in goal after his error on debut last week.  Pilkington is still out injured. The Swans defensive problems are clearing up now and both Flores and Rangel should be fit to take part.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 1-1
Dream Team Star Man: Bradley Johnson

Stoke v Aston Villa – Saturday 6 April 2013 – 1500KO

There are so many teams on poor runs at the moment, and if those runs carry on there could be an outside chance of being dragged down into the trouble, and Stoke fall into this category nicely. Their winless run goes back as far as January. Villa find themselves back in the bottom 3 after throwing away a good halves work against Liverpool last weekend. But surely they have too much talent to go down, don’t they?!

Premier League Team News: Stoke are nearing full fitness with only Matty Etherington a doubt. Villa look like they will line up the same as they did against Liverpool last weekend although Holman may make the bench.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 1-1
Dream Team Star Man: Christian Benteke

West Bromwich Albion v Arsenal – Saturday 6 April 2013 – 1500KO

Match of the Day is going to be dull tonight, 4 games and none of them are that exciting! This is an important week though for The Gunners, a win could see them jump above Chelsea into 4th place, albeit temporarily.

Premier League Team News: Mulumbu misses the first of 3 matches after his ‘Sunday Morning’ sending-off against West Ham, although this loss is offset by the return of James Morrison. Walcott has an outside chance of making the game, but Arsene Wenger will give Jack Wilshere another week to return from his recent injury.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 0-2
Dream Team Star Man: Oliver Giroud

Liverpool v West Ham United – Sunday 7 April 2013 – 1330KO

She Loves You by The Beatles was number 1 in the charts the last time the Hammers secured a league win at Anfield and despite their solid win over West Brom at the weekend, you can’t see that stat being broken, especially with Andy Carroll ineligible.

Premier League Team News: Youngster Rahem Sterling has a hamstring injury for The Reds and they will rest him as a precaution, other than that they have no new problems. Andy Carroll is ineligible to play against his parent club so Carlton Cole or Chamakh will replace him. Joe Cole has an outside chance of making an Anfield return but McCartney is definitely out.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 3-0
Dream Team Star Man: Luis Suarez

Tottenham v Everton – Sunday 7 April 2013 – 1405KO

It’s now time we see how good AVB is, he has been banging on about how strong his squad is for a while whilst the cynics would say that Gareth Bale is Tottenham, but after his injury in UEFA Cup midweek action we will see what the man with the deepest voice in football can do. Bearing in mind Tottenham haven’t won a game without Bale scoring since January.

Everton still harbour ambitions of Champions League football and if they manage a win here they are right back in with a shout, however travelling to White Hart Lane with your two most influential players suspended makes it a little harder.

Premier League Team News: Gareth Bale will miss at least 10 days of football after turning his ankle in midweek. The Spurs squad could also be without Aaron Lennon who picked up a knee injury whilst Jermain Defoe has a pelvic problem. The Toffees are missing Felliani and Pienaar through suspension whilst Mirallas is an injury doubt.
Premier League Betting Prediction:  1-0
Dream Team Star Man: Scott Parker

Chelsea v Sunderland – Sunday 7 April 2013 – 1500KO

Who would have thought this time last week that we would have been talking about Mussolini and an ex-Foreign Secretary resigning, but that is the card Sunderland have dealt us with their appointment of Paolo Di Canio. His side are in freefall but maybe he is the one who can galvanise the squad. One things for sure, the Makems are going to get a lot more press coverage than they are used to!  If Chelsea want Champions League football this is a must win game for them, but tiredness may set in for some as this is their 4th game in 8 days.

Premier League Team News: Ashley Cole is out after tweaking a hamstring in Mondays FA Cup win over Manchester United. Ba should replace Torres after their UEFA Cup win, even though Fernando popped up with 2 goals.  Di Canio has a limited squad to select from with Cuellar and Vaughan both missing, joining key player Cattermole and Fletcher on the sidelines.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 3-1
Dream Team Star Man: Oscar

Newcastle v Fulham – Sunday 7 April 2013 – 1500KO

I pretty much said Newcastle were safe in the last couple of weeks, but back to back losses has seen them get dragged back into the battle, however their home form which has seen them win as many at St James Park as 3rd place Spurs have at White Hart Lane should see them through.

Premier League Team News: Tiote is definitely out for Newcastle who also have doubts over Mathieu Debuchy, and Haidara is also out. Fulham are without Steve Sidwell for three games after his first ever sending off.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 2-0
Dream Team Star Man: Yohan Cabaye

QPR v Wigan – Sunday 7 April 2013 – 1600KO

Lose this, no ifs or buts QPR are playing in the Championship next year! If they win they probably still will be but at least they will have a team to hang onto. Without dragging out all the clichés this is a Six Pointer!

Premier League Team News: Shaun Wright-Phillips season is over after undergoing surgery, that apart ‘Arry Redknapp has a full squad to choose from. McManaman is fit to start for The Latics who haven’t got any new injury problems.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 1-1
Dream Team Star Man: Adel Taarabt

Manchester United v Manchester City – Monday 8 April 2013 – 2000KO

15 points clear, 8 games to play, even the most optimistic City fan would say, let’s concentrate on the Cup now.  With United out of all other competitions now after Easter Mondays cup defeat to Chelsea he will have his side focussed on winning the EPL by a record margin.

Premier League Team News: Rooney returns to the United squad after a groin injury picked up on England duty, however in defence United do have a few problems with Vidic, Evans and Rafael all doubtful. Nasri and Silva are fit to start for City, but Micah Richards is still 2 weeks away from fitness.
Premier League Betting Prediction: 1-1
Dream Team Star Man: David De Gea
