For any keen cyclists Joes out there, one of the world’s most stunning cycle rides will return to be returning to the British Isle this May with the 2017 Etape Caledonia. Taking place in the Scottish Highlands, the tour will bring with it over 5,000 cyclists to the Scottish town of Pitlochry for a weekend filled with celebration, camaraderie and of course, cycling.
Featuring some of the breath-taking natural scenery and snow covered mountains in the UK, the Etape Caledonia is a challenging 81 miles long route where riders will take on steep climbs, rolling hills and forest-lined roads, making it one of the most rewarding cycling circuits on the calendar.
The ride begins and concludes in Pitlochry, a beautiful small Victorian town in the heart of the Highlands. Many of the surrounding roads will be closed for the event, meaning riders can really take in the Loch and mountain views.
After taking the cycle, riders will then make the most of the vibrant atmosphere of Etape’s new Event Village. They’ll be a whole host of activities and events goings on throughout the weekend and this year there’ll be ‘Etape Talks,’ a series of enlightening talks hosted by the likes of former Olympic and Tour de France cyclist Chris Boardman MBE.
Sponsored by Marie Curie, Etape Caledonia takes place on Sunday 21st May 2017. Enter now over at the Etape Caledonia Website for £85, or if you raise money for the event’s main sponsor and you can enter for £40.
