Cyclists seem to get all the cool sporting gadgets these days – probably because they’re permitted to use more of them than most other athletes in other sports! The next in line is the Fabric cageless Water Bottle.
The revolutionary water bottle completely does away with the need for a cage by mounting your bottle directly on to your frame. Its ultralight-weight 1.5g studs are secure and the bottle simply clips into place.
Of course, the first question will be, “It looks cool. But why the need?” It’s quite simple really – it removes unnecessary parts to the bike and improves the clean lines thus improving on aerodynamics when the bottle isn’t in use, which are pretty important to serious cyclists!
According to Fabric, with mounts that weigh a combined 3g, the cageless Water Bottle is even lighter than carbon fibre bottle cages that many professionals use. Fabric also says the new system is more secure than a conventional water bottle and cage, so less chance of losing a bottle when riding over rough ground or cobbles.
Fabric are actually based in the UK in Frome, Somerset. They use innovative design, pioneering techniques and fresh thinking to create unique and world first cycling products. With a hometown name like that, what else are you going to do but make cycling products!?
Fabric’s Water Bottle will initially only come in a 600ml bottle size but there are plans to add a 750ml at the end of the year. There are also plans to allow for moderation in the system which will cater for different bottle sizes and shapes, which means the possibility of bespoke designs.
The Fabric cageless Water Bottle will be available from September this year and will come in a range of colours. Two studs and a bottle will set you back a great value £11.99. So get over to the Fabric Website for more details.
