Gi FlyBike

Commuted around big cities can be a nightmare for any Joe, which is why many of us choose the humble bike as our mode of transport. No waiting for buses and you know exactly when you’ll be getting from A to B. But storing a bike in a one-bed in Clapham can be a real problem, especially when you have to drag it up flights of stairs.

Which is why we reckon a fold up bike that doesn’t compromise on quality or style might be right up your streets. Say hello to the Gi FlyBike, a smart bike which folds in under a single second!

The Gi FlyBike is an electric, smart, maintenance-free, one-second folding bicycle with full size, 26” wheels that’s been created for the future of urban commuting. Crafted from ultra-lightweight aircraft grade aluminium, the Gi FlyBike can be taken anywhere without compromise.

Obviously the main selling point of the Gi FlyBike is its super rapid folding. The FlyFolding system folds your Gi in one single second and in one simple motion. All you need to do is pull a lever on the middle of the bike frame and you’re away.

As this is made to help the urban commute, it’s also an electric smart bike to make that commute a little easier on the quads. The Electric Flight Assistance means Joes can ride up to 40 miles (60 km) on a single battery charge before it’ll need more juice. Ample distance.

There’s also a GPS System which syncs wirelessly with iOS and Android to navigate your way through the city and even a USB phone charger on board so you’ll always stay connected.

Other awesome features include solid, anti-puncture tires, which means no more flats; a Smart Locking System which locks your bike automatically when you are 10 feet away; and LED Smart Lights which are controlled remotely with an accompanying app.

The Gi FlyBike is being funded on Kickstarter where its $75,000 target has already been doubled with 30 days to go. We can see why with the appeal of having something that is built to last and so is so convenient, particularly if you’ve got a city commute. You can get hold of one at the Gi FlyBike Kickstarter Website for around £1300 ($1990).
