Nike and Man City Reveal Limited Edition Mash-Up Kit
Football seems to be rife with mash-up kits at the moment; late last year Nike announced a limited edition FC Barcelona kit, while Inter even wore their 20th anniversary mix-up top in the Milan derby last weekend. Well, the mash up is making its way to the Premier League with the unveiling of the Nike Manchester City celebratory jersey.
During their six-year-long partnership with Nike, Manchester City have won six major trophies. This run of success is being recognised with a limited-edition Nike x Manchester City celebration jersey which pulls designs from kits worn during the trophy-winning period, and will be worn during matches for the rest of the season.
The design pulls from nine of modern classics in total, including the 2017-18 centurion season home shirt worn by Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling and John Stones, in which the club broke the Premier League points tally record, and the bold third shirt from the 2013-14 domestic double winning campaign.
On the mash-up kit, one of City’s hottest talents Phil Foden said: “My personal favorite is the home jersey from last season. I made my debut wearing that, so it means a lot me.” The shirt will debut on pitch as a pre-match option this weekend when City play Fulham in the Premier League, and will continue to be worn for the remaining domestic fixtures this season.
The individually numbered (1 to 6,000) Nike x Manchester City celebration jerseys will be available over at the Nike Website, as well as at select retailers, from Wednesday 10th April – giving you plenty of time to work out whether it’s an abomination or beauty!
